Christian's Corner - New Goals, New Year & the New Gladiator Knee Brace

I have been with Optec USA for almost two years and I always look forward to building stronger relationships with my customers and helping expand their product line for the New Year. I'm excited to write my first blog for 2012 and present our NEW Gladiator knee braces.

I have never been one for “New Year’s Resolutions” but this year I have set goals for myself on a personal and professional level. With that being said, I am proud to work for a company that also has similar goals in mind; to be better and work harder and than the previous year.

I am sure you have all heard the “buzz” going on about Optec USA’s new Gladiator knee brace line. Whether you have seen pictures on the website, received flyers via e-mail, or met with a rep during an in-service or trade show, we have been pushing this new product line hard and have heard a overwhelming amount of positive feedback.

Now that we have released the new Gladiator ACL Max, Gladiator ACL Lite, and Gladiator OA Max, we would like to challenge YOU to try our new product line! What separates the Gladiator line from other knee braces? Like all of our products; quality, ease of use, and better service will continue to separate us from other companies and continues to make us a leader in orthotic fabrication.

I hope our new product line and the new year meets and exceeds your expectations and you can reach all your goals. I look forward to getting more feedback throughout the year. After all it is you who helps Optec grow each and every year.

Sincerely,

Christian Sharple

Stealth PRO - PDAC Approved L0631

OPTEC is proud to present our new Stealth PRO, which is ideal for patients requiring firm support.  The Stealth's revolutionary intercrossing strapping system along with the anterior opening design combine with a rigid back panel to provide spinal stabilization from the sacrococcygeal junction to T9 vertebra.  The Stealth PRO back panel attaches to the Stealth brace with our secure elastic suspender, which ensures the same fit every time with no rotation of either component when donning. PDAC recently approved both the Stealth PRO2 and Stealth PRO4 for HCPCS code L0631.

OPTEC Products with PDAC Approved Codes

OPTEC consistently offers high-quality, cutting-edge products at a fair price. OPTEC also helps your practice to be successful by submitting braces to the Pricing, Data Analysis, and Coding (PDAC) Center.

PDAC recently reviewed many OPTEC products, with the following decisions: VertaMax L0627; Stealth PRO L0631; Stealth Rehab L0627; Stealth X L0637; Stealth LSO LP L0637; Stealth CB L0637; Stealth Xtreme L0637; Stealth TLSO with DLK L0462; and Stealth TLSO with ATE L0464.

Additionally, the Stealth LSO, Oasis LSO, and Oasis LSO LP continue to be L0637.

The Stealth TLSO: Complete Immobilization - Complete Comfort

OPTEC's Stealth TLSO provides motion restriction for the thoracic and lumbar regions. The posterior extends from sacrococcygeal junction to just inferior of the scapular spine with rigid plastic providing lateral strength. The Stealth TLSO is available in 3 Panel and 4 Panel versions, which include a Dorsal Lumbar Kit (DLK) or a DLK with your choice of thoracic attachment. The Stealth TLSO by OPTEC allows you to restrict the thoracic vertebra with the ease of use and precise compression of our unique closure system.

TLC Takes Good Care of Patients

After hip replacement surgery, patients can definitely use some extra support - both physically and emotionally.  Family and friends fill the latter need and Optec's TLC Universal Hip Abduction Orthosis covers the former.  The TLC Hip Abduction brace is very comfortable and easy to use.  The lightweight pads are breathable to reduce heat buildup as well as washable.  Additionally, the TLC's buckle closure system allows patients to get the same fit every time.

Make Life Easier with a PPX or SPX

There are many reasons that an orthotist or physician would choose to have an anterior thoracic extension put on a patient's TLSO.  It may be to get the perfect amount of extension or possibly to make the experience of wearing a back brace more palatable to the patient and cooler for the wearer if they live in a warm climate.  Whatever the reason, many braces are fit with either a Sternal Pad Kit (SPK) or Pectoral Pad Kit (PPK).  But Optec USA has presented an impressive improvement on these standard models.

ConsignPro - A Convenience for Orthotists

Optec USA's ConsignPro consignment program has been a great success for many facilities. ConsignPro offers the convenience of quick, properly sized fitting without the overhead of purchasing a stock of braces. So, just how does ConsignPro work?

The Stealth Consistently Impresses

Optec USA's Stealth in LSO and TLSO is one of the most versatile orthopedic braces in our catalog. The versatility of the Stealth combined with the ease of its application work together for improved patient compliance. Even practitioners who try this brace for the first time are often won over by how simple the Stealth is to don and doff as well as the support and stabilization it offers. The Stealth features an interlocking strapping system on the posterior of the brace. These durable plastic straps with a leather-like texture are one aspect that allows for maximum compression. Conveniently, the interlocking straps automatically reset when the Stealth is removed by the wearer.

Additionally, the Stealth offers arthritic grips so that a patient of any age can continue to have the appropriate amount of compression even after the first fitting with minimal effort. Furthermore, the Stealth comes with two posterior panels so that the rigidity of the brace can be decreased as the patient recovers. This versatility will encourage users to wear the brace for the prescribed period of time without feeling as though it is overly restrictive during their rehabilitation. Another great thing about the Stealth is that you can easily couple it with hot or cold therapy relief using the elastic suspender in the posterior. These features, along with the breathable fabric, combine to make the Stealth a very appealing option to both practitioners and patients. If you have not had the chance to try Optec USA's Stealth for yourself, call today to order a trial sample or look for us at the next Orthotic and Prosthetic trade show you attend.
