Spinal Openings

OPTEC provides many choices of spinal opening so that you can select the one that best suits your patient. We provide a choice of Single and Bivalve openings, overlaps such as smooth, step and with tongues.

Misc. Attachments

OPTEC offers lateral extension panels for increased circumference and greater support. We also offer pneumatic inflatable lumbar pads to provide your patients with adjustable lordotic curve and maximum comfort.

Dorsal Lumbar Kit

OPTEC now offers the Standard DLK for SPK/PPK or with Thoracic Extension Straps and the Extended DLK for SPK/PPK or with Thoracic Extension Straps. Both styles attach to prefabricated braces with hook and loop to extend posterior height and support for a versatile TLSO. Each one can be easily removed when the patient needs just the support of an LSO.

Closure Systems

OPTEC provides many options for the closure of your brace. Our 1 1/2" or 2" Dacron-reinforced straps range in length from 12" to 22" with chafes available in either the standard 5 1/2" or the extended 7 1/2" lengths. The variety of lengths allows you to achieve maximum compression and comfort for each patient. Additionally, the Edge closure system presents a great alternative for geriatric patients and any patients who need greater ease in donning and doffing while maintaining compression.

Polymer Panel Inserts

Many of OPTEC's prefabricated spinal orthosis include removable, rigid polymer panel inserts. These inserts are molded to your specifications for both the anterior and the posterior and can be adjusted as the need arises. The inserts make it possible for you to closely address the needs of your patients. As the patient progresses to recovery, the inserts can be removed to decrease rigidity and gradually increase mobility.

Hip Joints

OPTEC's TLC joint offers infinite abduction, adduction, flexion and extension adjustments. The TLC provides full-time abduction and comes standard with the TLC, the Mini-TLC, and the Primo and Edge orthosis with Hip SPICA. The unique ATM joint automatically abducts and rotates to desired setting when patient is sitting and extends when patient stands. When standing or walking, the ATM joint automatically resumes a neutral position, promoting normal ambulation. The ATM joint is included with the TLC2 and can be requested for any brace requiring a hip joint. Both the TLC and the ATM joints are adjusted using just one Allen wrench!

Thoracic Extension

In addition to offering you the standard models of Sternal Pad Kit and Pectoral Pad Kit, OPTEC offers the PPX and SPX. These models feature adjustable extension control using one wrench to adjust both extension and height. Instead of wrestling to manually bend the bar on a typical SPK or PPK, the new SPX and PPX provide you with the ease of a turn of the wrist in making adjustments according to the needs of your patient. The SPX and PPX are both available on all of our TLSO style orthosis.
